The shoes of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Long live Rock and Roll and long live shoes!

I recently got to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio,

Along with other great memorabilia the museum had the shoes many of the stars wore.

Take a look:

Deep Purple's Glenn Hughes wore these heels around 1973.

Steve Miller wore these around 1980.

Elvis wore plain black shoes with his gold suit in 1968.

Johnny Cash wore these boot on his ABC TV show from 1969-1971.

Carl Perkins wore these snakeskin shoes.

Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane wore these heels.

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, wore these penny loafers during the 1989 Bad tour.

Snoop Dog wore these sneakers around 2000.

For the first time in awhile, I crossed the finish line of a running race in a sneaker other than the Fuzex Lyte. Two pairs of those sneakers had gotten me through two half marathons, a 10k, a 5k, and 3.5 mi race.

Then suddenly as I went to train for the next race, I realized my two pairs of Asics Fuzex Lytes were worn out and bothering my knees to run, a bad sign.

I still really liked the Fuzex Lyte, but found they lacked traction in the rain, smashed down quickly, and could be slightly under supportive on long runs.

I experimented with other Asics styles and settled on the regular Fuzex just a week before race day. I know you're not supposed to switch that close, but I needed an unworn out sneaker.

I like the the Fuzex was a similar design and featured nice plush cushioning.

The sneakers worked and I went on the run the Ted Corbitt 15k better than expected.

I recently wore them on a rainy run and had no problem with traction. I like the cushioning and so far it's holding up well. I have been running in them about 4 weeks.

But I do fine them more restrictive especially on short fast runs or when doing side motions, so I also got another pair of Fuzex Lytes.

How do they compare?

I hope you all had a very happy holiday season and that 2017 is off to a great start.

Given my love of shoes it should be no surprise that I have shoe ornaments on my Christmas tree. Its a fun way to add something I love to one of my favorite times of the year.

Above are two slingback shoe ornaments I purchased in Macy's.

These two ice skates I purchased in K-Mart.

And finally this is Princess Aurora, or Sleeping Beauty's, shoe. It is to commemorate Disneyland's 60th anniversary and I received it as a gift.
