High Heel Shopping at Famous Footwear Just in Time for the Holidays

Its holiday party time and high heels can give you that extra confidence boost or make an outfit. Or...they can cause blisters and pain.

I have found myself shying away from heels, especially for work because I often cannot tell if I will be on my feet a lot.

Recently I was in Famous Footwear and found heels in the clearance racks that were actually comfy and cute! Priced at about $25, I couldn't go wrong.

Aerosoles Mary Janes

After recent success with Aerosoles boots, I have been liking the brand's padding in its shoes.

These heels have the same padding. The heel is thick a sturdy. The mix of textures and shades adds interest, while suede makes them wintry. They can be worn dressy or for work.

Decorating with Shoes: Shoe Art and Motifs

Two of the best parts of loving shoes are shopping for them and wearing them, but sometime shoes are more of a general concept than a specific item, as in the case of shoe quotes. Thus, to reflect my personality, I have used shoes in the decorations of my room and wanted to share my choices with you.

I was shopping in Christmas Tree Shop when I found these shoe art canvases and thought they would be perfect for my room at school. They were inexpensive but have a fun vibe and I like how bright colors brighten up plain white walls.

Giant Blow-up Shoes 2: The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloons 2011

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! One of my favorite traditions is getting up and watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, especially the large balloons. Last year, I visited the balloon blow-up near Central Park and saw how large some of the shoes are. This, year I got the chance to visit again and see some new balloons.

I made sure to get good pictures of the shoes. Can you guess whose shoe it is?

The Christmas Shoes

“Sir, I want to buy these shoes for my Mama, please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry, sir, Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes would make her smile
And I want her to look beautiful if Mama meets Jesus tonight”(Lyrics from Elyrics.net)

Although Christmas is usually a joyous time, some Christmas songs may bring tears. The Christmas Shoes is a well-known sad holiday song that topped a Billboard chart in January 2001. Yet, many wish the song was played less.

Giant Blow-up Shoes: The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloons

Can you imagine shoes a couple of stories high and filled with air? The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day balloons wear just these shoes.

On Wednesday, I went to the blowing up of the balloons near Central Park. This event happens every year before the parade and includes thousands of people. It’s an amazing way to see the balloons up close, but be prepared for massive crowds.

I braved the crowds to bring you pictures, especially of shoes and feet.

Here is a peg-legged pirate.

I know this isn’t technically a shoe, but see a close-up of his pegleg.

The Scary and Whimsical World of Halloween Shoes

Halloween is right around the corner. If you’re like me, you’re still trying to figure out what to wear. Now, let’s get to the best part of the costume, the shoes! After all, what would Dorothy costume be without the ruby red slippers? For anyone planning on being Lady Gaga this year, a pretty popular pick, unusual shoes are a requirement. For some inspiration, check out the previous post on Lady Gaga’s shoe choices

One way to make sure you get the right shoe to match your costume is to order a specifically Halloween shoe. Many online stores or costume stores have selections of Halloween shoes prices between $25 and $50.  Here are some of my favorites:
